2004 Exhibition 30cm² - resumé

In 2004 the British Society of Master Glass Painters (BSMGP) launched an exhibition of work from a wide spectrum of its practising members. The exhibition entitled '30cm2' was the Society’s first major exhibition since 1986. Launched at the Cochrane Gallery in London’s West End, it later travelled to the Stained Glass Museum in Ely and Hardman’s Studio in Birmingham.

The exhibition was open to all members of the Society, exhibitors concentrating their style into a framed piece only 30cm2 in size. These were hung together as a wall of glass illustrating the tremendous diversity of the Society’s membership.

The 30cm2 exhibition not only showed a wide variety of types of glasswork being produced by glass artists today but also brought exhibitors together, giving a rare opportunity to discuss and appreciate one another's work. Consequently it was extremely successful for both visitors and participants.
