Float glass, painted and silverstained. This is a fairly close interpretation of an engraving of Jane Seymour, made by W. Hollar. The engraving is based on the famous Hans Holbein portrait of 1536. I have only recently started to paint on glass and owe a great deal to my teachers who, of course, cannot be held responsible for my inadequacies! For some inexplicable reason I love trying to portray the human face in glass. As I progress, I hope to move from fairly literal work towards more abstract portrayals.
