Sue Ashworth AMGP

Fossil bearing rock that erodes to reveal flat layers of cross beds is interpreted in glass and metal with surface treatment producing similar hard linear texture. Another form of glass, vitreous enamel, originated as a substitute for precious stones and is used here as bright finds within the rough material. Working with glass involves countless disciplines and each architectural brief brings different challenges, both aesthetic and technical. I consciously look for other ways and creative answers to bring proposed ideas to actuality rather than tread a familiar formulaic path.
