Sea Wisp was formed using narrow layers of float glass fused on to a square, binding some strands with copper wire interspersed with small sprays of white opal frit, aquamarine and pink transparent confetti and glass beads. This work in contrast to my glass sculptures is mysterious and playful. My fused work, influenced by nature, contrasts to my cast glass (using lost wax technique) an interpretation of found sculptures, relics retrieved from hidden places using bullseye patty and copper wire. Having originally started as a sculptor, I turned to architectural glass and am presently exploring hot glass techniques returning once more to more sculptural as well as architectural concepts.
