I have recently acquired a stock of old glass painting materials from a gentleman, (sadly deceased)amongst which is a box of powdered acacia. Does anyone know what this might have been used for? Any suggestions gratefully recieved!
Thanks,

| I think that acacia can be used as fixative like gum arabic. Would be interested to hear how it works. |

What you have there is Gum Arabic also known as Indian Gum; Gum acacia; Acacia powder. Hope that helps.

| Thanks for both those answers - shame it's not something more excitung but at least I can use it without fear of arrest. You can't be too careful sniffing a nameless white powder!!! |
