Susan Ashworth Fellow

If light is an important defining element of buildings then coloured modulated light raises that function - giving life to infinite possibilities. If the material is mouth blown antique glass then the possibilities are literally alive.
My work in architectural glass is always site specific. Each job starts with a careful and open discussion with the client on site, followed by designs or models that clearly show the concept. The aim is to realise the brief, to make figurative work alive and abstract imagery accessible. Above all to draw the viewer in to discover paths of meaning beyond the surface appearance.
