Keith founded Barley Studio, York in 1973 after an apprenticeship with York Glaziers’ Trust where he worked on York Minster’s famous Rose Window.

He is internationally renowned for his work in stained glass, an ICON accredited conservator (ACR), conservation adviser to the UK Corpus Vitrearum Medii Aevi (CVMA), past member of the ICOMOS CVMA Board, external assessor for the Register of Architects Accredited in Building Conservation (AABC) and fellow of the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust. Keith is Master Glazier for Ely Cathedral and consults for St Patrick’s Cathedral, New York, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Art, Boston and the Sienna Duomo, Italy.

Awarded an MBE in 2015 ‘for services to cultural restoration and conservation’, Keith is currently Master of the Worshipful Company of Glaziers and Painters of Glass for 2017-18, one of the few practising glaziers to be given this honour.
