Rayleen Clancy is an artist based in County Waterford, Ireland, working across stained glass, sculpture, video, and installation. Her practice reimagines traditional glass within contemporary contexts, exploring folklore, mythology, and ecofeminist ideas through layered, hand-painted, kiln-fired glass. She creates both wall-mounted and sculptural works, often illuminated and embedded within immersive environments.
Trained at SETU, Waterford, the San Francisco Art Institute, California, and the Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Dublin, she brings together fine art and cinematic influences to create transformative, phantasmagorical spaces. She undertakes exhibition work and new commissions and teaches visual art in further education.
Her work is held in public and private collections including Glasmuseum Lette, Germany, the Office of Public Works, Ireland and the Waterford Municipal Collection, Ireland. Awards include the Arts Council of Ireland Project Award and Agility Award, multiple ArtLinks Bursaries, and Waterford Arts Grants. Upcoming exhibitions include Wild Wisdom from the Grúagach’s Lair at GOMA, Waterford, in 2026.
