Continuing Professional Development Awards are given to help practitioners with at least five years’ work experience to broaden their professional skills. This can include professional development for technical or creative skills, and for accreditation as conservators. Applications for funding may be made for attendance at masterclasses or conferences as well as for structured courses. You can find out more here.

The Glaziers also offer work placement awards. The 40-week Award for Excellence and the 10-week Ashton Hill Awards offer new and emerging architectural glass artists the chance to develop their practical skills for a career in stained glass. Successful candidates are offered funded placements in studios where they will gain mentored work experience from professional artists and conservators. More details are on their website here.

The Arthur and Helen Davis Travelling Scholarship allows the winner to develop their study and knowledge of glass through travel. Recent winners have visited the USA, France, Germany, Iceland and the Czech Republic. The Travelling Scholarship is awarded every two years. Contact the Glaziers for more information.
