Are you within five years of your stained glass training and looking for studio experience? The Worshipful Company of Glaziers are offering two glass artists or conservators the opportunity to train in one or more leading studios in the UK or abroad.

The Ashton Hill Award is for a fully funded 15-week work placement to the value of £5,775 plus a training fund of £750 which can be used to cover the direct costs of training courses or obtaining tools. Examples may include conferences, specialist memberships, obtaining qualifications or enrolling on short courses.

The Lever Award is for 30 weeks of fully funded work experience in a leading national or international stained glass studio. A total sum of £11,550 is given to the successful candidate (£385 per week). This is available to assist in meeting the cost of subsistence, travel, and rent during the 30 week placement. There is an additional training fund of £1,000 for the successful candidate.

Both awards also include Freeman membership of the Worshipful Company of Glaziers, an exceptional and prestigious honour.

If you know anyone who would benefit from the awards please encourage them to apply for either or both. Applicants can come from other fields of conservation or art if they can demonstrate an active interest and commitment to the subject, and a willingness to learn.

The deadline for applications is noon on 27th March 2023. Details can be downloaded 2023 Application Ashton Hill and Lever Award.
