The Architectural Glass Centre is pleased to present a five-day workshop exploring the potential of layered glass painting in combination with sandblasting and flashed glass with Rachel Phillips.

With her background of using traditional stained glass techniques and materials in contemporary applications, Rachel will encourage you to explore and combine them in your own work. Learn to layer glass paint, silver stain and enamels with a variety of mediums, techniques and tools.

She will demonstrate her approach to using flashed glass, sandblasting and multi-layered paint, stain and enamel layers and lead you in creating pieces of your own. You will be encouraged to think about your own response to the techniques covered and explore their potential, whether you want to work on an architectural or an intimate scale. Experimentation, both playful and rigorous, is a key feature of this course.

This course is suitable for those with basic glass painting skills as well as those looking to integrate more advanced skills into their established practice. It is for anyone who wants to dive deeper into glass painting and discover new ways of working.
