Discussion Day 2024

Stained Glass – Art, Design & Craft

Our Discussion Day in the autumn of 2024 will focus on the three elements that are essential for creating a stained glass window that will stand the test of time. We will consider the vision of the artist, the overall design that takes into account scale, structure and shapes and the craft skills of fabricating a window, which in turn impact the design. Both traditional and contemporary approaches must take into account how light activates the work and the impact it can have on a space.

Join us on Friday 13th September at Glaziers Hall.

Primarily aimed at practicing glass artists, students and those in the early stages of their stained glass careers, the Discussion Day is open to everyone with an interest in stained glass, from traditional to contemporary and from conservation to innovation. It is a chance to see some fascinating work and hear directly from the speakers about their practice.

Time will be set aside for participants to bring questions about their projects for group discussion. There is ample opportunity to network with other practitioners in a friendly and helpful atmosphere.

Tea and coffee are provided but not lunch. There are many wonderful places to eat in nearby Borough Market.

The British Society of Master Glass Painters is very grateful to the Worshipful Company of Glaziers for hosting the event.

Friday 13 September 10.30-4.30 at Glaziers Hall. Tickets £37.40 for members, £44 for non-members for the whole day.
