Helen Robinson is an independent stained glass artist who worked for over twenty years in Harpenden, Hertfordshire but who relocated to the historic market town of Bishops Castle in Shropshire in 2017. Having studied at Central St Martins School of Art she perfected her design and craft skills largely through restoration of historic windows.

The inspiration for many of her designs comes from botanical forms which lend themselves to the flowing and linear quality of lead. She adopts a strong Art & Crafts philosophy in her work, understanding glass as a material, mouth-blown wherever possible, mastering age-old craft techniques but striving to find a new artistic expression, fresh and modern yet with a tangible link to the past.

Helen has created windows for many homes, churches and other public buildings. She is a Short Course Tutor at West Dean College near Chichester, an independent tutor, an Associate of the British Society of Master Glass Painters, a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Glaziers and a Brother of the Art Workers Guild in London.
