Originally from Orkney, Shona attended Glasgow School of Art where she studied stained glass and printmaking. With over thirty years experience, she is a familiar name in the Scottish stained glass field.
Shona specialises in designing new windows for churches of all denominations. Strong lines and bold colour are her signature style. She often draws inspiration from landscape and enjoys weaving traditional symbolism with local lore and legend. Two of her highly acclaimed commissions include the Dunblane Memorial windows and the Oil Industry Chapel window – for which she received one of her three Saltire Awards for 'Arts in Architecture'.
Shona works on commissions all over Britain and her glass is a focal point in numerous churches, public buildings and individual homes. At her Morayshire studio she teaches classes, mentors local art pupils and enjoys welcoming visitors for ten days each year during ‘North East Open Studios’.
