Following glass studies at Swansea, Deanne worked in the Welsh valleys. Local exhibitions led to both public and private commissions. Her designs are influence by nature, landscape and industrial heritage. The leaded antique glass windows have always included areas of painted work, acid etching and sandblasting.
Returning to study for a BA and MA in glass at Swansea, Deanne explored kiln-formed glass and new technologies such as water-jet cutting. These skills, including Pâte de Verre, were deployed when she was commissioned to produce a lighting scheme for the prestigious restaurant ‘Sosban’ in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire.
Deanne works from her new studio which has all the facilities for private teaching. Recent commissions have become figurative and include larger areas of glass painting. However she encourages each client to bring their ideas to inspire a unique new work.
