Rachel Mulligan is a professional stained glass artist working in Farncombe, Surrey. She is inspired by the changing seasons and loves the storytelling element of medieval art. Originally trained in Fine Art, Rachel discovered stained glass in an Adult Education class and was instantly enthralled. She went on to study it at Central St Martins and Chelsea School of Art.

For over twenty-five years, Rachel has designed and made windows for public and private buildings using traditional techniques with some she has innovated herself. Her work is full of detail, which she achieves by engraving flashed glass and painting.

From her garden studio, Rachel works on commissions, exhibition panels and teaches regular workshops. Rachel’s stained glass is in many buildings and homes around Surrey. Her ‘Labours of the Months’ series was bought by Godalming Museum with a Purchase Grant from the V&A. In 2014 she was voted Surrey Artist of the Year.
